Breaking Barriers Community Arts

Breaking Barriers started out as a project headed by Kate Strudwick while she was Senior Arts Development Officer at Caerphilly County Borough Council.  It led the way in community based digital storytelling, training and development.  It was constituted as a social enterprise and Sandra Anstiss was chair when the first Board of Directors sat in 2008.  I was appointed to the post of 'Manager' in 2010 along with Julie Smith who was appointed, Admin and Finance Officer.  The organisation unfortunately ceased trading on 31st March 2023.  While it traded, it worked with many people and organisations on many successful projects in the community.  Look out for the tag BBCA which outlines any project carried out while working for Breaking Barriers Community Arts (BBCA).
