Merthyr and the Biscuit Factory

This was a wonderful project celebrating the centenary of Roald Dahl's birth.  It coincided with Wales: Year of Adventure.  The project was a collaboration between Literature Wales and Head4Arts and I was engaged as one the arts practitioners with Breaking Barriers Community Arts.  The other arts practitioner on this project was Mike Church.  Literacy was at the core of the project, another collaborator was Merthyr libraries. The project took place in Dowlais Library and looked to the workers of OP Chocolate factory and their family as participants.  It could also be argued that community cohesion was also one of the outcomes.  The group met over several weeks and biscuits were at the heart of all the fun.  The video made was played as part of the celebrations and has been shared through social media.  I will leave you to guess what Roald Dahl book inspired our work!
